Description

Well here's my latest foray into that troubled waters we call...anatomy. Aye, and trouble it was but they say all in time with practice and patience. I'm actualy pretty happy with this one. Still much work to do to reach the dissying hieghts of those epic artists whos pictures I drool upon. And I see Da has changed the upload artwork page...or I've hit the wrong button and this is going someplace it was never intended to go.

So the concept is some sort of sci-fantasy world were a warrior woman stands gaurding the entrance to the ruins of a lost city. Sort of a Heavy Metal meets John Capenter's Princes of Mars thing. Enjoy. (on a side note many of my friends were disapproving of the fact that there was not enough T&A, no nudity. I am hoping you are a little more appreciative as I'm still trying to grasp this whole figure painting thing.

UPDATE: Soooo, apparently the new St.ash upload thingy is in need of some fine tunning. After repeated tries to update the first version I've had to submit this new one seperatly. Grr. So, I will have to delete the other one. Anywhoo I fixed various issues and made her a more powerful icon of gaurdianship....and stuff.

UPDATED UPDATE: I have gone back and reworked her entirely and find this to be so much better than the original. Whew! Still some minor issues but I'm definitely improving! Yay!

Hey Kaber,

First of all what I like about this is the almost ghostly feel of the painting. Being a glowing eyes magical maiden of bad-assery, the glowy look of her skin and dress suits the scene of the heronine of a creepy haunted ruin. The colours add to this effect as well, contrasting with the scene nicely.

The concept of that sword is just brutal. No mere mortal could wield that thing without chopping his own arms off - and it must weigh a TON! And there she is, resting upon it like it's nothing more than a mop, ready to bash (by bash I mean brutally yet creatively cut into little pieces) the crap out of whoever's trying to get out, or get in - as the case may be... The reflections in the dark pool of water is well executed, and the ghostly shapes and orbs in the background are suitably spirit-like.

As for the anatomy - it looks fine apart from the right arm - the upper arm is too short, the elbow should reach down almost to her navel. Her forearm looks fine though. To see what I mean compare it with her left arm and visualise where her elbow should be. Her breasts have one hell of an uplift! That bra must be wound brass winched tighter than a crabs backside in a tidal wave. Her hair, hands, clothes, facial features - all brilliantly done - the hair especially so, looking soft and cuddly... if you can get close enough without her hacking you to pieces, I mean...

Overall - a really nice piece that with a couple of adjustments would be an epically awesome piece. Personally, I really like it
